during my senior year my work was following an investigation, with a path of alterations, revision, and experimentation. i focused on how i can make pieces that capture a subject more than a single image portrait. after years of seeing single image portraits and also making them in my own practice for years, i wanted to explore how using multiple images and mediums could add to a portrait of someone or something. my goal was to best capture a subject, whether that be a friend, myself, a time, or a place, making a piece that captures multiple aspects and shows the relationship i have with the subject. i started this collection by using different techniques to capture multiple angles of a person. i experimented with adding multiple images of different sizes in one piece, while including photos that are overlaid together to capture a double exposure like image. i also worked on some abstract pieces using collaging of photography, paintings, drawings, and writings. these pieces were to create a relationship between places and time. i made self portraits using my photos, found media, drawings, and writings to make a self portrait without any photos of myself. for the final piece of the collection i used two older pieces i made earlier in the school year, revisited the ideas in them, and added other found media to make a final revised piece. this final piece is an accumulation of multiple aspects of my past work and ideas to create a final piece that shows growth and revision. this collection was full of trying new techniques, revisions, experimentations, and trying to capture things the best i can.
